The Summary Court Martial is held by the commanding officer of any corps , department or detachment of the regular Army to which the accused belongs . संक्षिप्त सेना न्यायालय किसी कोर विभाग या नियमित सेना की उस टुकड़ी के कमान अफसर की अध्यक्षता में लगाया जाता है जिससे अभियुक़्त संबद्ध है .

The Summary Court Martial may pass any sentence that could be awarded under the Act in respect of the offence charged but not a sentence of death or life imprisonment or imprisonment for a term exceeding one year . संक्षिप्त सेना न्यायालय मृत्युदंड , आजीवन कारावास या एक वर्ष से अधिक के कारावास को छोड़कर , ऐसा कोई भी दंड दे सकता है जो आरोपित अपराध के लिए अधिनियम के अधीन दिया जा सकता है .

The Summary Court Martial can try any offence punishable under the Act or under the command of the officer holding the court , except an officer , junior commissioned officer or warrant officer , when there are grave reasons for immediate action . यदि कोई ऐसे गंभीर कारण हों जिन पर तत्काल कार्रवाई करना आवश्यक हो तो संक्षिप्त सेना न्यायालय किसी अधिकारी , जे.सी.ओ . या वारंट अफसर के अतिरिक़्त सेना न्यायालय लगानेZ वाले किसी अन्य अफसर की कमान के अधीन किए गए अपराधों का विचारण भी कर सकता है .
